Options for Long Distance Passenger Land Transport Infrastructure Expansion. Analysis Regarding Network-based Sustainable Development

AbstractIn the global reality of intense competition for financial resources, models for transport infrastructure and operational technologies development are to be taken into consideration in order to ensure that both service and physical network provision serves society's wider need. Proposed paper presents a detailed methodology for the substantiated choices of transport infrastructure development in case of long distance haul and high speed passenger travel, adequate for efficient resources consume (space, energy, finances). Practical aspects are revealed in the present comparative study regarding space and equivalent energy consumption, conducted for two land infrastructures, highway and high speed rail, connecting the same origin and destination points. As a result, although both services have their benefits and costs, high speed rail is recommended as a sustainable development action, ranking better than highway infrastructure. Recommendations concerning methodological clarifications and practical aspects are made in order to insure the best practice considering a sustainable network based transport infrastructure assessment process

ANALYSIS OF THE ONLINE PURCHASE BEHAVIOUR OF ROMANIANS

n recent decades, technological development has experienced significant acceleration, and smart devices are now widely available. Romanian e-commerce market, although ahead of countries like Greece, Portugal, Italy or Bulgaria, has still a long way to go before reaching its full potential. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the online shopping behaviour of Romanians. For this, we analyzed statistic data on internet access and online purchases and discussed the findings of an online purchase behaviour survey of 580 Romanian respondents. The main findings of the survey suggest that, while 64 percent of respondents prefer online shopping to the classic non-virtual shopping, the top three risks that worry potential online Romanian buyers are: fake online reviews, uncertain quality of goods, and unreliable match. 5G technologies, ultra-fast smart devices, lack of borders in online commerce are already present, so the future belongs to those who will know how to adapt and anticipate the needs of online shoppers

Education is an important area of training the individual’s personality for a better individual life, contributes to the well-being of society by developing a set of skills that can be applied throughout life, can trigger the emergence of innovative ideas that benefit society as a whole. Lack of education creates problems such as domestic violence, poor health and especially low living standards. That is why without a good education, a better society cannot be formed. Integrated System of Fed Batch ABE Biosynthesis and Solvent Recovery by Pervaporation

Anaerobic fermentation of glucose substrate by Clostridium acetobutylicum bacteria at 34-39 °C produces butanol, acetone, and ethanol solvents as metabolites. In the case of batch and fed batch bioreactors, the control of butanol concentration in the fermentation broth is recommended for diminishing its inhibitory effect on the bacterial system. Solvent recovery from batch or fed batch bioreactors by using an ultrafiltrationpervaporation system could be an efficient solution to improve the process performances. A mathematical model was developed in order to describe the dynamics of solvent production in an integrated system of fed batch fermentation and solvent recovery. Simulations performed under various operating conditions were used for optimizing the biosynthesis process, i.e., for maximizing the solvent production and minimizing the substrate concentration in the fermentation medium. Initial substrate concentration in the bioreactor, feed flow rate, feed substrate concentration, starting time of feed and ultrafiltration-pervaporation, surface area of ultrafiltration and pervaporation units were selected as process control variables

Produse vegetale și fitopreparate cu acțiune hipoglicemiantă

Diabetul zaharat continuă să fie o problemă globală prin frecvența sa și este foarte costisitor pentru societate prin evoluția cronică pe tot parcursul vieții. Tratamentul diabetului este complex, include pe lângă tratamentul medicamentos cel fitoterapic și igieno-dietetic, iar identificarea de noi medicamente, cu un profil de siguranţă mai bun şi efcacitate comparabilă produselor actuale, rămâne o preocupare constantă a cercetărilor ştiinţifi ce, inclusiv prin evaluarea plantelor medicinale hipoglicemiante din flora României și a Republicii Moldova, cât și a principiilor active responsabile de acțiune. Importanţa actuală a fi toterapiei rezidă în ponderea tot mai mare a medicamentelor de origine vegetală, atunci când cota fitopreparatelor cu acțiune hipoglicemiantă în Republica Moldova constituie doar 1,25%, raportate la numărul total de produse înregistrate, cu o tendință de înregistrare a lor ca suplimente alimentare în România (peste 90 suplimente alimentare). Totodată, studiul pune în evidență necesitatea extinderii fitopreparatelor hipoglicemiante, prin testările plantelor medicinale mai puțin studiate până în prezent
